Parent Teacher Conferences: We are so excited to share your scholar's
progress! Parent Teacher Conferences are mandatory, and they are offered
on October 18th and 19th. Please see an email from your homeroom teacher with the link to signup or visit the Archway Chandler website.
China Celebration: To enrich our curriculum and
allow learning to come alive, we will have a China celebration! The
students will discover Chinese food, create a craft, and unravel a
silkworm’s cocoon. Look for a sign up soon for items. This event will be Friday, November 5th.

Academics:
History: When we return, we will begin our unit on China! Students will learn about the geography of the land, the Great Wall, and Chinese inventions.
Science: In science, we will begin our unit on insects by learning how insects use their different senses.
Literature: We will continue our study of fairy tales and enjoy the story of The Little Mermaid. Students will practice identifying details and main idea. Please don’t forget to bring in your copy of The Cricket in Times Square.
Grammar: We will further our learning on the four different types of sentences and end marks. We will continue with copy work and dictation by reading excepts from 101 Dalmatians.
Math: Students have worked hard on renaming ten and hundreds to 1,000. After break, we will begin working on renaming tens and hundreds to subtract within 1,000.
