Academics
History
We
will continue our ancient China unit by learning about silk and Chinese
New Year. We will compare Japan, India, and China before having an
assessment on ancient China on Thursday. We’ll end the unit with our
China Celebration on Friday.
Science
We will learn how different types of insects walk and discuss the meanings of peristalsis and tri-pedal gait.
Literature
We
will continue reading The Cricket in Times Square while practicing
decoding new text and reading with expression. We will discuss the plot
and will discover the literary technique of anthropomorphism. Please
send in a copy of this book for your child as soon as possible, if you
haven’t already.
Grammar
We will continue
practicing the use of commas in a series during our narration, copywork,
and dictation exercises. We will use passages from Pippi Longstocking
for these lessons.
